Frozen Crust Ride at Blue

There is about four to six inches of snow on the ground, with a little sun mixed in and overnight freezing temperatures, the perfect conditions have occurred to make every inch of Westchester a frozen skate park.
No need for trails, you can ride wherever you want. Especially if you are under 180 pounds. It is like riding in Moab, but with trees and about 80 degrees cooler. 13 of us ventured out at 8 am to take advantage of these excellent conditions. In fact, many have said that these frozen crust rides are the best rides of the year, and I would have to agree. You get to ride things you have never seen, and the traction is just incredible. You can climb up things that you never could when it is just dirt or wood. New log rides options open up, and when you fall, there are no rocks waiting for your face.

If you ever have the chance to experience these kind of conditions, don’t pass it up. It truly is some of the best riding I have ever done, anywhere.
