So I bought a cross bike. I’ve won some MTB races, and can climb good on the road. Should be easy right?    Wrong.    I was always near the back of the pack. Speaking of back, mine killed me while doing these races. So I sold the bike, but am itching to do it again!
Such is cross.

Me running up and over the barriers. Perfect form! Hahahaha.
I should be able to hop that little wood barrier, if I had an ounce of energy left.
Hot on the tail of the 16th place finisher. I suck at cross. I still won a turkey though!
The A racers making it look easy.
Proper gazelle form.
Where do these guys get the energy. I just let my rear wheel slam the barrier.
Riding the Bianchi.
Mass start in Farmington at the Chainbiter 5.0.
I’m lost in the pack.
Cross is just that. Good cross training.
The sand pit in Farmington.
Actually I did better through the sand than most.
And I passed a few people in the barrier sections.
See. Not running, riding, although a little off line.
Mansfield Hollow damn race. It was 15 degrees. 4 degrees with wind chill.
Even with home field advantage I could only manage 7th out of 19.
Nice form!
Sandy run up. This is a great course.
New England cross, so painful.
Running through the beach section in Mansfield.
No hopping up this one.
Traditional barriers to hop over? That would have been too easy.
A view of Hartford from the east. A good course here as well.
Now that’s a run up!
